French Montana was introduced to many through his work with Max B, and he hasn’t forgotten about his mentor since the Harlem rapper was sentenced to 75 years behind bars in 2009. Yesterday, French shared some footage from a visit he paid to the man who invented the Wave — that is, as much as he could show.
“VISITING MY BROTHER MAX B,” French captioned the Instagram video.
Back in September 2016, French confirmed to fans online that Max’s prison sentence had been reduced thanks to a plea deal, ensuring that he could be out of the pen sooner than his 75-year sentence. Max, born Charles Wingate, was convicted of armed robbery, aggravated assault and felony murder back in 2009. As per the plea agreement, Max is set to have a parole date of 2024, meaning he could be home in approximately six years if not sooner.
On a side note, last month, former Max B affiliate Jim Jones threw dirt on the rapper’s name.
“They move like nothing. He can die where he stands but I ain’t got time to talk about a person in jail. My heart don’t fold. You violate me a certain type of way, that’s for life. It’s just that that man is in jail and I could never talk bad or down about somebody’s in jail. Especially when he comes out. Let’s see how long it takes him to come out. If he comes out and I’m still into it, I’m going to bust his ass.”
